A tire question
#1

I just noticed a very small spot on one of my tires that is like some what of a balloon near the top of the sidewall. Is this something I should be concerned with? It is small and you have to look at it at an angle to see it.

Larry,

Many tires come out of the mold with a small hump on the sidewall, is it a hump or a bubble. Disregard the hump. Replace the bubble. Photos? Any sidewall damage? Jump the median on the freeway recently? Hit a large pothole?

BTW...What happened to Jessica? Your changed your avitar, I didn't know you had such a good looking car!

I think it is more of a hump than a bubble. That was not Jessica it was Debbie. Maybe a new girl to come soon!

I would replace it. Too many bad things happen when tires fail for me to take the risk.

Are your tires under warranty? Typically a tire dealer can prorate the cost of new tires based on the miles you should have but did not get on the old ones.

Not sure. I bought these with my wheels over Ebay.

Larry, have a trusted tire professional look at it. Some irregularities in the sidewall are part of the moulding process and some are damage. It is hard for us to tell with just a description.

Larry, Could this be a place where the belts are overlapping? Some tires show this more than others. Try a tire store that sells that brand and ask about a replacement.

I had a pretty nasty bubble in my sidewall on the Cayenne. It looked like a golf ball was stuck inside. The Tires were new and replaced under warranty.
