insurance question regarding tires
#1

A few days ago, my front and rear driver's side tires were slashed. The insurance guy is coming tomorrow to inspect the damage. Since my tires are about half worn, I feel they should all be replaced. I have a relatively low comprehensive deductible, but the insurance company is saying they normally only would cover the two that were slashed (which conveniently for them wouldn't exceed the deductible). He said they might consider otherwise if I had something in writing from Porsche stating that all four should be replaced. Seems like common sense to me to do all four, but is there anything in the owner's manual about this? (I'm away from my car right now and can't check) Anyone else have experience with this sort of thing? I've actually never filed an insurance claim before.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

almost any tire shop will tell you to replace in pairs front and rear - you cannot replace left and right - that will make the handling go all to hell in a handbasket

they are trying to get off cheap - don't let them do it
