Got my 968 back from Dutch Treat. Highly recommended. (An aside; when I was dropping my car off they were working on a black 968 Cabriolet, and as I was picking it up I met a guy who had had his white 968 coupe worked on there, before he swapped out for an amazon green 35,000 mile 968 coupe that also gets serviced there; there's the usual litany of 911s in and out of the shop, but also late-model Boxsters and 944s and...) The owner of the shop, Robert Wessels, called several times to keep me apprised of what they were finding and where they were at, delivered the car back fully sorted and with a nice itemized computer printed invoice, turned it around in exactly the amount of time promised and for the dollar amount discussed beforehand. (The belts and water pump, including all parts and a new -- not rebuilt -- water pump, was around $1200; with a full service -- cap, rotor, plugs, all fluids including full synthetic oil change, all filters, etc., and the feed hose on the power steering, total came to $1681.
There's still some work to be done:
Most of the vibration was from the balance belt having shed a tooth and running very loose.
Parts replaced:
The thing just purrs now. (Though there's a vaguely "KITT"-like whir now that I didn't hear before. Doesn't sound wrong, just, new.) And can be revved above 3K without rattling itself to death. Yeehaw.

There's still some work to be done:
- Still have a slight vibration at idle; either engine mounts or clutch, both of which are due but neither of which is near critical
- Brakes; full rotors and pads, thinking about swapping for the Big Brake Kit to have the spiffy red calipers and cross-drilled rotors, as long as they're in there, 'cause I'm a poseur <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
- The high pressure hose on the power steering, plus replacement of the damaged bushings
- The sensor in the oil sending unit is bad; oil levels and pressure are fine, it's just a bad sensor
