slapping leather
#21

did some tweaking and adjusting today. almost finished and ready to take detail shots. i'm REALLY liking the way the leather feels. i never really thought about how the vinyl felt until i got the leather in there and felt the difference.

Only one thing I've found that feels better than leather...

Wear leather. 20 million cows can't be wrong.

the pics really don't do it justice. the whole feel of the car is changed. it may just be the fumes from the new leather, but the car just feels "warmer", and i don't mean in temperature. i don't know why i put this off so long, though in hindsight, it was probably a good thing, as i likely would have mangled it by now..

How about a pic that shows the exterior and interior. Those seats are like totally rad dude!

I assume the same acoustics apply as with drums. Harder interior surfaces "project" more, especially high frequencies, and softer interior surfaces will deaden a lot of sound. My original leather is pretty hard compared to anything new, regardless of how much Leather CPR I put on it.

pretty much, though in this instance it is reflection. i wouldn't have thought it would have made such a difference though. the materials aren't all that different. i'll get a chance this week to drive it a bit and see how much of a difference it really makes. so far, i've only heard it in the garage.

No wonder the Europeans have to resort to adding horse meat in their ground beef. Flash killed all the cows for his interior.

Looks great! My interior doesn't look so good now...

Yes. I'm quite happy to keep eating horse if this is the result.

This is how they all should have been built. Very nicely done.

Right, and Porsche would have slapped on another $ 5,000 to the price of the car for it..

I meant the entire car Dan. Would have cost more than a Turbo S <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />, and probably would have been worth it.
