<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->ohai guys, long time! I just got a PM asking about SF mechanics and I have a couple options. Also Dan, who did your work this summer?

I know there may have been some mixed reviews of Vanguard, and speaking from only my personal experience, they have been 100%. They've done a few things for me, new wiper motor and nozzles, and a helicoil fix for a sparkplug (don't ask, lol). Helicoil fix is a tricky thing and the car is running great for a couple years now on the helicoil. So I say you can use Vanguard with confidence.
I also just got a pinion bearing job (!!) and I drove a bit to south of San Jose to visit Ken's Sportech. I love these guys. Owner's name is Mark (I guess Ken retired or something?)

+ 1 on recommendation of Ken's Sportech . Did my pinion there. Yeah, Mark has owned the shop now for at least six or seven years I think ( and he sure is a great guy ) but he did not change the name of the shop - it was so well known under that I guess he figured why mess with it.. My valves/head rework, variocam, etc job was done by the same mechanic I have used for about 25 years.. works on Porsches, Mercedeses and BMWs . His name is Valdek - the shop's name is : The Mechanic ( hey, he's a great mechanic, just not too creative with shop names )
