EPA wants to regulate emissions for racing cars
#1

Ok, so it might be time to write your congressman.

"A "power grab" by the Environmental Protection Agency threatens to crash America's amateur car-racing industry....."

"EPA officials said they are “clarifying” emissions law, yet the Clean Air Act has long exempted non-road vehicles used in competition. The agency has not made a similar move against NASCAR or other professional race circuits."

It is probably best if all existing race cars are crushed and replaced with all Prius races.   :glare:

i don't see the problem with this.  it's really no different than the restrictor plates.  those got accepted easily enough.  as long as all cars have to be the same, who cares?  the rules have always continued to change year to year, to keep the playing field even.  this is no different, and a lot better for the environment.

really, the only ones that i see objecting to this, once the initial knee-jerk anti-regulation responses have thinned out, are the ones who either cheat, or make their living off of building dirty cars.

the good news for would be racers is that it will be easier to get into it, as the engine work will be limited.

this is a good thing guys

I totally agree. We need to find a way to run a clean machine within all of us. Make sure your 968 is a clean running machine!!

NHRA will be interesting. Tire smoke will be hard to run through a catalytic converter or a particle trap.
