I don't think there is a short cut here. You have to take the rack out, because the high pressure line is obscured by the cross member. But the good news is that there is no reason for you to remove the tierods from the rack. The whole rack comes out in one piece, so your alignment will stay intact

http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/steer-01.htm You only have to do up to step 5, then replace the line, and put the rack back.
It might be a good idea to clean out you reservoir and other lines at this point.

I completed a full overhaul of the steering system about a month ago, and this is really not a tough job. You can get this done in an afternoon, so don't loose hope.
I would sugest borrowing/buying a steering knuckle puller, it makes the job of getting the tie rod of the suspension much safer and easier.
