recessed hood for badge
#1

I remember reading somewhere that the early 968's had a recessed hood mount for the Porsche badge...replaced my badge yesterday and saw that I have a recessed hood. Wondering if this is rare???

Yes it is, only 968s produced during the first three months of production have these. You also should have the very rare edged 968 rear emblem. My car is #9 and has both of these features.

That 968 emblem needs a visit by a sharpie.

I have a 1992. Don't know what you mean by 'edged?'...but it is worn as much as yours! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

You have a rare rear 968 emblem. Only used during early production models.

Also the hood is early production.

Porsche started with VIN #61 for each series in each year. That would make your car the 73rd 968 produced for the North American market out of a total of 2,234 for the 4 years. What is the production date of your car? You can find it on the door jam sticker in the upper right hand corner.

Badge is the same size (just replaced with sparkly new OEM no date badge)

I remember the pic of the Alfa you posted on another forum.

That is a cool car.

Post a pic of it here. I am sure there are a few of us who would like it.
