I have always kept the storage cubbies in the car. It is not that I needed the storage or the shelf to carry groceries home from the store, it's just that it was there.
Then I put in Flash's " chassis brace " and the cubby was not too easy to re install, so I left it out for the trial fit. The trial fit is still in there and I find myself wondering if I should put the cubby back in.
With the cubby out I have saved weight and there is more room to carry larger items behind the seats.
I located an article about pulling out the cubby and using the rear seats for cartage and the occasional small child who wants to come along with me and my 9 year old. I purchased a 944 rear seat belt assembly on Ebay for $50.00 to go through with the mod.
here is the link to the article on 968.net: http://www.968.net/modifications/landos_rear_seat.htm
The article says to hammer the shelf brace down and tuck it under the carpet. Has anyone done this mod? Can the clip be removed or just smashed down?
