Rear offset
#1

I am looking at some 10-1/2" wheels for the rear and the offset is 52mm. Anybody comment on if that will work?

i don't think you will clear the outside, and it's gonna be really close - a number of factors in determining yes or no:

tire choice, with its corner profile, sidewall width and specific tread width

ride height

spring rate

camber angle

i have a 52mm offset on my 10s, with a 285-30-18 S0-3 - i have extremely little clearance at the outside - the extra 1/4" on the outside would require at least a smaller tire to clear

That will be close... I've got 10x17 Fikse's with 56mm offset, running 275/40 Hoosiers and I certainly have a bit of room left on the outside...

... but not much!

I am having 2 wheels shipped to me so I can mount them (witout tires) on the car and see how it looks. Fronts are 8.5"with 45mm offset. If it looks too close I will send them back.

I used Daves wheel calculator, but it only takes into consideration tire size and offset and not rim width.

one thing to look at in the rear when fitting the rims are the liltle clips that hold on the rocker panels - this is where most people have their tires hit first on the outside - unfortunately you probably won't be able to tell without a tire on them

on the fronts, make sure you rotate the wheel in both directions, and bounce and extend the suspension (or better yet, compress it) - the idea is to put the setup through its full range of motion - again though, it won't really help without a tire on it
