question about my tiptronic
#1

before I took my car to the dealership to get it repaired, I could only take the keys off the ignition if the tiptronic was on reverse. They said they did some adjusments to the transmission and now I can take my keys off when it is in park. Do you have any idea why I had to put it in reverse to take my keys out?? I'm just curious. thanks a lot.

fore reasons of safety, you should not be able to remove the keys in reverse - you should be able to remove them in park only - sounds like they fixed it

lol - not sure how that worked though, as it isn't a column shift

Electrical sensors on the shift stick maybe? Stick was a bit out of aligment and the sensors were a little dirty?

+1 to Flash's comments. I would have the shop UN fix the shifter, they probably adjusted the cable to the trans wrong.
