Possibly 1 of 1 cab 4 sale!!!!
#1

So, you want a possible 1 of 1 968 cab but you’re not into the obnoxious colors like mint green (yuck!!!). Well, our fellow 968er Spencer spotted an interesting cab and pointed it out to me and it turned out to be a very rare piece and possibly one of one. First the bad news, it is a tiptronic (assuming you wanted a 6 speed), it has 143,000 miles on it, it has no factory options (other then the paint and interior) and the dealer is in Washington state and they want too much money for it ($12,995). Now the good news, it looks to be a one owner car and in nice shape and is said to have no issues. But what makes this car really special is the color. It is painted in the 92-only L80D Cassis Red metallic, kind of a rose-silver. This was a special paint offering in 92 only and cost an additional $1600 on the sticker. Standard metallic paint offerings were only $803. The car also has the optional leather/leatherette (as opposed to the standard vinyl) interior option and you can see the seats have held up well. This is the first and only Cassis red car I have seen. It is kind of an 80’s color as I think it was used on some of the other models during the late 80s/early 90s. It very well could be one of one because, of the 2008 cabs sold in North America, 667 were 92s and I have 181 of those registered and this is the first Cassis red car. If you like the car contact Dan at Landmark motors at dan@landmarkmotors.com or 425-861-1978. I’m thinking the car won’t sell for $13K but it could be a nice car at a better price. Pictures attached. Good catch Spencer!!!

So why is the dealer being in Washington state part of the bad news? Defintely a unique color.

Eric, for most of us Washington state would be a little out of the way but i see that is not the case for you. Sorry for the assumption. You should pick it up since it is in your back yard. I'll bet it goes cheap.

That's a great color on the 968. It's actually one of the colors I would consider on a 911SC Targa that I continue to search for, my first choice being Baltic Blue or Petrol Blue, followed by Black or Silver. Cassis Red is real purty! Good news is, being a standard Porsche color and not a true one off special order, touch ups or resprays should be fairly easy. Hopefully it will go to a good home.

IMHO, I think there is a reason it may be 1 of 1. Not a very nice or desirable color.

Not ugly, just not quite masculine enough for me. Now mint green...

I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

'quasi-collectable' My wife wants a tip. Maybe she'll like the color. What happens to a tip at 143K?? That number scares me a bit.

Checked with the wife. She said "Down right ugly for a Porsche if you ask me!!!" - cut and pasted from her email. Tell me how you really feel honey I suppose that leaves it available to someone who will appreciate its rarity.
