Porsche quality : oxymoron ?
#21

FWIW, my seats are in very good shape considering their age and the fact the car has 150.000+ km's. I only give them a treatment once a year...

I read somewhere that it is very important to clean the leather first before you put a leather care product on it. Not that I ever do that, lol.

About build quality: I had an 85.5 944 that I banged in to a wall at Road Atlanta during a very wet race. Two days later I was told the tub could be straightened but "she'll never be the same" Within a few days I sourced a 1988 944 from a friend that would not run due to excessive vibration. It had 181,000 miles and a ratty interior. Over 3 weeks my good friend John and I moved all of the race bits (including the cage) from one car to the other, plus the transmission. Did not touch the motor except to set the balance shaft  belts properly to relieve the vibration. On the 4th week after my wreck I was at practice for another race. On the second lap I was putting out better laps than ever, and I finished in the top three in a field of over 15 cars. I am still racing this car today, 13 years later. Now THAT is quality.
