Wow, I can't believe this year is almost over. For me, in 968 terms, it was a great year all thanks to this Forum and the members. Without the knowledge I have gained here from my fellow members and the personal help on occasion from Bob, Pete and Jason at Paragon, the year would not have been as memorable.
I finally got around to fixing my odometer gear and had the Big red ! snuffed out. Read the posts here and got er done.
I also started the year committed to be a better Autocrosser in my PCA Region here in Florida. (Suncoast). Got some new Nitto NT05's and proceded to slip slide all over the track. Coming in 3rd in Feb was the best I could do. Not sure if it was the tires or not, I started with Pete and Bob's guidance over the phone and on the forum, I replaced the Sway bars with Mo30, Delrin bushings, Upper and Lower Strut D1R braces and Koni Sports on all 4 corners with the front Ride height adjustment. Threw in some new 300lb springs and all set up intially as Bob, Pete and Jason recommended. Did all the work myself with some encouragement from these guys. I bought 4 9X17 ET55 Turbo Twists's from an early Boxter and put on some new Yokohama Advan AD08's. Got a great new alignment and lowered the car substatially. I was immediatly faster. A LOT FASTER!!! In fact from that point on, I won every event we had in P02 and finished consistantly in the top 5-8 cars overall for each event. The prior year P02 Class winner (and current Region President) with a 944S saw his last win.
I was elected to be the 2011 Competition Chairman for the Region. We have a Zone 12 (Florida and Puerto Rico) Autocross scheduled on Feb 5th which is the PCA 48 hours of Sebring scheduled where I'll run against 944's, 944S, 944T and 968's from across the state. Can't wait to see where I stand with these guys.
Again, without the guidance and expertise of the members here and our business supporters who advertise here, I'd still be sliding all over the place and not having very much fun.
Thanks to all.
Have Great Holiday Season and Happy New Year!!!!!
