Anyone know the number for the series of zip ties at the top of the firewall?

Likely candidates:

N 903 57101 (fifth from left)

or

N 904 449 01 (ninth from left)

Excellent question...I just search PET and it didn't find either one. My guess is the ninth from left (904 449 01) with the smaller diameter thread socket.

I've been looking for the same ones ever since replacing the main battery cables. Wow, now I may be able to ID the ones for the tail light wiring harness too.

Does your local dealer have that cardboard display? That's a neat idea and actually something I've done before with our wiring and wall plates for customers to see.

Actually the pic comes from Sunset. I just got off the phone with them, and apparently N 903 571 01 is a bad part number - incorrectly labeled on the board! Sheesh. They're checkin' on that one.

N 904 449 01 according to Sunset is for late-model Cayennes and such and has a connector requiring a stud for fitment. The former snaps into a hole. So we think it's the former, but LOL they can't locate it in the system until they sort out the part number.

I'll post here if the mystery is solved.

It makes sense that it would "snap into a hole"...please let us know if/when they find something. I am compiling a while laundry list of bits and pieces, so I was going to e-mail Bob or Luke with a list soon anyways. I'll anxiously await any info.

I have a snapped zip tie on the firewall too. I guess once we have the part number porsche will suddenly get a spike in zip tie demand [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif[/img]

If you don't need a genuine Porsche part and just need something that works, you can find very similar zip-ties at Home Depot....

Porsche part number is 443.971.850.A I believe. You will laugh when you hear the current price, in 2007 they were around $7 each

You can search for stud mount cable ties for alternatives

The ones you posted are VAG part numbers (valid ones) and much cheaper (about 10% of the Porsche prices)
the fifth from the left is 6.75 inches and fits over a M8 screw and the 9th is 9 inches

Follow-up: checked today and actually the part in question does indeed screw over a stud. It is not a snap-in-to-a-hole piece per my previous speculation.

The stud is only 5mm in diameter and about 9mm long. Not M8 as Mark suggested.

I haven't followed up with Sunset - will get to that this week.

Just a follow up, the Porsche part number I posted earlier is correct 443-971-850-A and they retail at 1.00 although apparently can be had as low as $.40
