[B]Apparently it's now official. Porsche will be selling a 4 door, 4 passenger vehicle in 2009. There's a sketch on the CNN web site. Apparently there is a press release by Porsche and there are supposed to be some pictures floating around. Anyone know anything more? Like how much it will cost? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Perbal

Here's a photo...

I like the "suicide doors", but I wish they would leave the sedans (and SUV's) to other companies and just produce sports cars. I know, I know...capitalism...

i understand that one - i'll go one farther - i wish they would actually get back to making sports cars - you know - by definition, a very stripped out basic 2 seat convertable with no frills, no power anything, and very light (like around 2000lbs) - the sports exotics and sports coupes they make now are cool, and certainly a lot more civilized, and even faster, but there's nothing quite like taking a tiny very light little car through the canyons

i saw a full convertable lotus elise the other day - not my aesthetic cup of tea but the right idea for sure - runs rings around these new porsches in the canyons too

a "new" 550 - yeah yeah - that's the ticket

Bloomberg article...they want to sell it around $65k to compete with the CLK

Flash, you're making me pine for my old '83 Rx-7, manual choke, no power anything...if only it was a convertible ( I had an '88 convertible too, the love of my life until the 968 ( No honey, really, you are the love of my life NOW, but I had the 968 first, yes honey)).

hmmm... leave the 4 door thing to BMW and Mercedes, there's no way this could win over an M5.

I'm not sure what this Bloomburg guy is thinking. $65,000 is dreaming. Most speculation is that the car will start around 80.000 euros for the V8 - just under $100k.

I'm all about Porsche staying true to it's sports car roots. However, at this point I welcome a 4-door sport sedan (even from Porsche) over another friggin' SUV!
