Painted center caps
#1

Can I get painted center caps for the wheels that came standard on my '92 Cabriolet? If so, three additional questions. Where? Part number? And what type of tool is used to remove/install them?

Thanks,

Keith

I found a set on ebay a while ago, paid about $80...no special tool was required for the ones I bought, though I think some had a "keyhole" tool for removal.

Regards,

Jay

Get some high quality enamel paint and do yours up nice. Here a pic from my gallery when I did mine; take your time and don't drink a lot caffeine.

Hard to find an inexpensive set. I looked at the Hershey swap meet and only found a few good sets, none under $80-100.

Performance products also has a full array of different versions, colors, and styles. The red in my caps nicely matches the red in my hood badge - both of which are a deeper red than the new sets.

Bigger picture?

My caps look like they were painted, but have faded. I thought about getting new, but I like the idea of DIY. What colors/brand did you use? Are they authentic P touch up or ??

Thanks

That pic is from my gallery, For some odd reason it wont open the large version. The paint I used was enamel from a fiberglass statue My wife made me install at our kids grade school <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> . I can't remember the name but she bought it at a local hobby store; it was made for outside and also resists UV.
