center cap crests falling off
#1

This has happen to both of my front wheels now. I got an orig Porsche replacement and was ready to replace the passenger side today when I noticed that the driver’s side has now fallen off. The second problem I soon discovered is that the crest from Porsche is now larger (too large for my taste).

I’m thinking of going with the black drawn on crest, I like the subtle look and I suppose it will end my run of littering the highways with Porsche crests.

Mine can only be removed when you take the wheel off, they are held in place by three small bolts/screws threaded trough the lip of the cap and as they're tightened they push against the wheel's center ring wall and stay there.. for good. The crest quality is remarkable, it looks like it has a multi-layer laquer, and it has not lost any of its color or luster, no flaking at al..in the six years I've had them. The problem : I don't recall where I bought them. I do remember however that they were stupid expensive , IIRC, around $ 400 for the set. Sheesh, you'd think they were individually hand made by Mr. Cloisonne' himself. Or, may be it's Mrs. Coisonne/ ? Get some old phone dial center caps.
They are metal, the finish will match and the crest is part
of the casting.
