Porsche CD/CDR-220 Display Control Conversion.
#1

Those that have installed the Porsche/ Becker CD or CDR-220 radio in their 968 will know that in standard form the fixed anlge of the display control is such that station information can only be read by leaning forward at an unacceptable angle.

This is a problem that can be rectified by installing a $100 Becker BAS-1296 non-angled display control conversion.

My problem is I can`t obtain one in Australia and the only source I know of in the US is Beck Autosound in NJ who has reserved their stock for their CDR-220 refurbishment programme.

I would appreciate any assistance in identifying a supplier or unit for sale.

Thank you.

Baz,

I'm in Central New Jersey. Anything I can do to help? You might need to sell yours and purchase their refurb unit with the non-angle display conversion. If shipping is an issue, I am happy to take it to a post office and send it to you if you make a purchase.

Thank you for the offer. I may take you up on it but I will try to source the Bas-1296 first.

Again many thanks.

Still on the subject of Porsche Becker CDR 220. Has anyone opened a CDR 220 face plate case?  if so I would appreciate a heads up on how this was done. It looks like an interference fit and the wrong approach will not be pretty,

Thanks for your consideration,

Baz
