Ah, and so there it is. The car is fresh out of the oven with a new coat of blue. Powder underneath, under the hood and in the cockpit. The powder will be the primer for paint on the outside. It's been a long time coming.

Looks like allot of work.
How about a thread with the progress?
I'm sure most would love to hear about it.

Thanks for all your comments.

It will be, for lack of a better term, a turbo RSR. Flares with space in the rear for wide tires. Centerlocks. No passenger seating--the foot well and battery box are taken by the dry sump tank. Air jacks. The cage and various mounting points are only going to be legal in GT for Club Racing, probably GT1S in the current scheme. But that's still a while away. It's a major step to have the welding "complete" although that probably never happens, and to see it in blue.

Unfortunately, I bought the shell almost eight years ago and have been plodding along since. But, I have truly enjoyed the construction, and my shop seems lonely without the project in there. Hope to have it home by this time next month. Think about this--when I am done the car won't have any serial numbers. None on the shell, new blocks don't have them and neither do new transmission casings.

I'll work up a construction thread and put it in the racing section.

Yes, welcome. That is an amazing project, and I admire your knowledge and talent. The only thing I can think of which rivals what you are doing is that guy in Germany (iirc) who built a scale version of some sort of Ferrari race car, by hand, fabricating virturally all the parts. Took him something like fifteen years. Something like that, or your project, would take me fifteen lifetimes

I am also in need of the hood template to cut the holes in the proper location - the 1st time!  :whine:
