no heat
#1

I have had heating problems before in this car and another with intermittent heat when cooling is needed, and have read the Jim Pasha article in Excellence, but never have had this problem. I drove my car today about 600 km with no problems. After supper I went out to get some gas (another 600 km day tomorrow) and I had no heat. None - the air was stone cold. I used the A/C today and everything was OK (I also had heat - my car seems to not really ever have good temp regulation). Even with the temp dial turned up I had no heat. The A/C was off but I hit the switch anyway and it came on. I turned it back off. There seems to be lots of coolant and the temp gauge stayed pegged at the first of the two central thin marks (normal position in my car on the highway). Outside air temp was 0C (heat would have been nice!) Any ideas?

take a look at the heater control valve - the vacuum hose may be off, loose or damaged
