steering wheel install

It's certainly true that Radio Shack is no longer what the name represents. However, at least for the location near where I live, I've been surprised at the little pieces they still carry - although only in one small corner area. Mobile phones and other non-Shack-type products certainly dominate. I guess, though, that's in response to the market.

Good luck with Radio Shack. They have so few parts now. Times have changed. I had to get mine at a surplus electronics store.

I found 3.3k-ohm Resistors 1/2 watt 5% tolerance. Is this right?

NO NO NO. That value will switch on the airbag warning light.

It says THREE ohm, any wattage any tolerance.

You have THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED Ohms.

The 'k' stands for THOUSAND.

Digressing slightly - if I want to temporarily disable the passenger airbag and avoid an airbag fault, does anyone know a method to do this with resistors? There are two plugs that connect to the airbag, so presumably each one would need a resistor - 3 ohms each?

Yes, That is what I did. EVERY bag gets a 3 Ohm resistor. Do the same thing with these as the driver's plug. See the DIY instructions.

Thanks. OK, then - let me get my mini-Hammer built, purchase and install a pair of 3 ohm resistors, and - hopefully - airbag light begone!!!
