never heard of that wheel, but i do know the 968 is different than many other porsches when it comes to steering wheel fitment, and many have had to modify a wheel to get it to fit

Did you mean Luisi steering wheel. They are compatible with the momo hub adapter. You can do a search here to find out which momo hub you would need.

Thanks Flash and Ron...yes, this is a Luisa steering wheel...what appears to be a potential fit is the guy on eBay says the model I'm interested in fits a 928 and 928 S4 with hub adapter model #5907...it would also fit a 944 with hub adapter model 5906...if you have any other ideas it would be greatly appreciated...

I looked at that on EBay, it doesn't appear to be leather, in case you didn't know that.

Follow-up? I am looking at this as well. Guy said it fits, sent me a spreadsheet that includes 968 in the wheels fitament, suppodsedly. Did you buy/install? How did you end out with turn signals/horn/wipers, etc? Thanks!

Hi J.C. - No - I haven't done it yet as my priority was to go ahead and get the timing belt changed...I'm still interested in doing this as I just would like the look of a wood steering wheel - kind of a vintage thing...I got the belts replaced at European Performance in Raleigh and was very happy with their work - I should have asked the guy what it would take to do the steering wheel replacement..I'll give them a call and report back...

I talked to the folks at European Performance in Raleigh NC (they appear to be both knowledgable and reputable in all things Porsche) about installing a "vintage" style steering wheel like the Luisi...two major issues: 1) yes, it would require modifying turn signals, horn, wipers etc; 2) probably more difficult an issue (and which others may have encountered) is the air bag removal...their take is that the installer just isn't going to risk the potential liability - even if an owner would sign some sort of waiver...and - even if an owner did this - one would be obligated to inform their insurance carrier - who would also probably not be all that excited about it - who knows - that may translate to higher premium - or maybe even refuse to cove period...so, unless I come across some type of vintage steering wheel that at a minimum would accomodate an air bag this may never happen...in any event - still love driving my 968...

I've seen a few people talk on this exact point.... can't remember the thread off the top of my head... but IIRC, the short story goes like this - there is a quick fix to keeping the airbag light off, don't tell you Insurance Company, drive safe.
