New Panorama today
#1

I believe this is the third month in a row in which there are no 968 street cars for sale in Panorama. Makes me feel like I'm driving something special. That's all.

Interesting. Last time I checked Autotrader, in contract, it seemed like half all surviving 968 were for sale! OK, I exaggerate slightly, but I had mine for sale for awhile (changed my mind - I'm going to keep it), and with all the 968s for sale, the prospects for anything resembling a quick sale, for any kind of a decent price, seemed very bleak.

It's funny. I was hot on the search for my 968 back in September/October. You name the site. I checked it daily. I found my car in Panorama. Half the cars you see listed on Autotrader were for sale back in September. Either someone is not realistic about selling it or there are some real junkers on there. I still check in once a week or so looking for a yellow coupe that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist.

Just because they are listed on Autotrader doesn't mean they are still for sale. I bought my '93 Cab off of Autotrader last August. Even after I bought it, the Autotrader ad remained up for at least four months. When I was on the East Coast in December, I was still able to go to the Autotrader ad to show a friend some pics of my new baby.

There are some for sale, go to cars.com or autotrader.com and search for the entire US, about 30 cars show up. They aren't worth much, most are the in $10-12k range, one's with 50k miles or so are in the $16-17k range. Race cars $20-25k. Guess it depends also on how well they've been taken care of.

If someone wants to buy mine, I'll sell it for $18,500. Two-owner car, and it's fully sorted out, 137k miles. 6-spd manual coupe. Don't have good historical receipts, but the following has been done and documented:

New clutch

New clutch slave and master cylinders

New Clutch hose

Timing Belt and water pump replaced 1 month ago

Front engine re-sealed - no leaks!

Recent brake bleed/flush with Motul 600

New oil cooler seals

Koni shocks/struts and coil overs all around

New brake pads - Pagids in front and Hawks in rear

New PORSCHE rotors all around

Sparco seats

Low temp thermofan switch

New dme relay

New fuel filter, plugs

Trans fluid recently changed

SS brake lines

New battery

New windshield

Freshly painted in January.

AC blows ice cold, all electrics work, including roof and rear hatch.
