Need Some Help Folks
#1

I need a hand establishing the stock ride height for the 968. I have one friend who's got a stock street 968 and it measures at 4 1/2 inches at the lowest point on the rocker panel.

The reason I'm looking for this info is that I race my 968 and was penalized last year (lost P1 in qualifying) for being under the required ITR race height of 5 inches. I thought measurement was taken at the pinch weld on the rocker panel, but I was incorrect. The measurement is taken from the lowest point on the rocker panel.

Now with the 968 we have much larger and lower rocker panels than most other cars. I seek to establish that the ride height of a stock 968 is less than 5 inches.

If some of you 968Forums folks would be kind enought to post the ride height of your car at the lowest point on the rocker (including a photo if possible) I might then be able to request an adjustment for the racing height of the car.

We raised my car to 5 inches and it looked absolutely wrong and was a waste of a $250 setup fee :-(

Thanks in advance for any help and GO 968 RACERS & STREET Drivers!

I seem to remember that the stock height is measured from the top of the wheel wells...I want to say 26 or 26.5 inches.

I'm sure someone smarter will step up to help.

how to accurately measure it is in the workshop manual. it is NOT via the rockers and such. i do not think you will have much difficulty establishing that the stock height is below 5 inches, but it won't be by much. the book sets it at 4.92"

Thanks guys - I need to measure stock height the same way it's being measured by the race series for comparison. 4.92 only give me a teeny bit of help.

It would also help to have a thread of heights measured <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rock.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
