Season #1 in ITR and RS BARN.
#1

We just finished up season 1 campaigning # 68 in ITR with great success, podium finishes in all be 2 races. The 968 proved to be very competitive in the class even with having to weight a minimum of a couple hundred pounds more than the rest of the cars in the class. As the year wound down the car got stronger and more dialed in and should be ready to lead the pack again next year. Big HP gains were made at last Sunday's test and tune with the addition of some secret go fast goodies!!!!!!!

A very large part of the development of the car came from the only true 968 expert there is around, Pete from RS BARN. In a world where there are those that talk about it on the internet and there are those that do, Pete has proven to be the man to go to when you want to squeeze HP out of the engine and set a car up for the track. Even though Pete is more that 700-800 miles away he has worked with me to setup and sort out the car, with many back and forth phone calls working through details.

Thanks again Pete, looking forward to next season and more podium finishes!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,

Joel

Congrats Joel!!!! Sincere kudos on your successes in SCCA. I know that is a tough class class to campaign with tons of outstanding machinery and drivers to boot. Comgratulations and then some!

You have that right... none like Pete and RS Barn. His cutomers putting the "rubber to the track" and winning races are the ones who are doing the talking. End of story. Now... Imagine if you had him 5 miles up the road <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

That turbo..... tempting.... a thing of beauty that engine bay...

Thanks!!!!!! Yes, i have trying to convince Pete that moving south would be a good thing. Let me list the merits incase he looks back in....... Warn weather year around, NO snow, saltwater and the charm of southern coastal living, track open year around ect.... Say want you want about the south but nobody retires and moves north!

Who did the 3L turbo motor? Looks like an SFR intake. What pistons and c/r? Turbo?

Nice looking engine bay.

Engine bay does look great. I notice the cruise control cable is still in there. Is that for long straights?

And I too vote for Pete coming south. Do it Pete! I moved here after 27 years in northern Illinois. I am so glad I did.

Thanks for all the posts, both cars are a lot of fun but for very different reasons. So Pete, the fix is in, time for you to set up a southern shop!!!!!!

One day I will start a thread about the turbo car but for now the race car is where the fun is at!!!

Cheers,

Joel

Awesome Joel! Do you race my old friend Kip Vansteenberg? He's generally the man to beat whatever he's running.

Can't wait for spring
