I don't believe there is anyone in Wilmington, maybe Myrtle Beach, but a lot of them come down here for specialized stuff. I know a bunch of the guys up in MB, maybe one of them would be interested in looking at the car for you. I take it your talking about the Aztec green Tiptronic coupe up there? If so it's been on the market for a while, like 4 or more months, so give him a low ball offer. It's probably been sitting because it's not a 6spd. It supposedly had all it's service done at the Fayettville dealership which is suppose to be pretty good. If the TBelt has been done recently then it's probably a pretty good deal the current price point. By the way he wouldn't take $5k for it, a friend offered that as that is all they were interested in paying for a car, they just selttled on a 944.

Thanks for that information, that is the one I'm considering. I haven't seen it yet, probably next week and I'm aware of the Tip altho that doesn't necessarily bother me, actually I've never driven one so thats the first thing. After that it's maintenance records and recent service.

If he has a stack of receipts from the dealership I wouldn't worry to much about the car if everything that should be done has been done. Most dealers will warranty there work to even if the owner changes. The car that's in town that is a 6spd but for more money also looks like a nice car. The autction on that one ends in an hour, if it doesn't meat the reserve he may be a little more willing to bend on his pricing for a local buyer.

It's a few weeks off, but I'm planning on going up to MB on the 21st for the monthly Sunday drive the MB guys put on. I could take a look at the car then, it's not to far from where the MB group is having lunch in Little River.

The PO indicated he has all the records but its from a dealer in NJ, so will be hard to get warranty on his work I think. I am aware of the two cars you mention and am following them. It's a little difficult in finding the right car but I'm trying and hope to be in the club soon. thanks

The reserve wasn't met on the Charleston car at $13.2. I'd send him an email tell him your in town and would like to look at the car if he is willing to be flexible on the price. He is asking a bit of a premium for the car in today's market, if the car were closer to 15k it would be more in line. He is down right now with the auction ending without a sale, so go get him...

yeh, you know its the second time on ebay, so I thought he might be stuck on that price, but I'll shoot him and email. would like to see the car for comparison anyway.

I'd be happy to look at that car with you if he is willing to talk on price. It needs a fog light which isn't a big thing, but he doesn't mention the paint damage under the fog light which is a bigger deal and should be a price reducer.

I'm out on Johns Island, the club in town is pretty active and we are always meeting for breakfast in West Ashley every Saturday if you ever feel like getting up early.
