Need fire extinguisher mount
#1

Hi all,

Going to DEs in my new-to-me '94 968 this summer and need to mount fire ext,

Had it on the hump in my old 944, don't want to do that in this car. I was looking at mounting in front of passenger seat (non-power) and was wondering about the Brey-Krausse mount. Does the one listed for late 944s fit a 94 968?

Best place to order this part?

Or - any other suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!!

The BK mount will work in the 968. I use it in my car. Nice mount with great workmanship, but just like everything from them, expensive. It will limit the forward movement of the seat.

So where is the best place to mount a fire extinquisher? Along the passenger side tunnel? I have a cup holdewr there now. Although a FE would be a better bet I would miss the convenience of the cup holder. I was thinking of mounting it in the hatchback area on the driver's side but was told that might be dangerous in an accident as it might "fly" forward.
I was looking at mounting in front of passenger seat (non-power) and was wondering about the Brey-Krausse mount.
For a power-seat application (4-way power), I use Stable Energies FE mount in front of passenger seat -- b/c the fire extinguisher moves fore/aft with the seat. I heard (perhaps incorrectly) that the BK FE mount doesn't do that....

Now I've got to find 2 locations, 1) for the fire in the car and 2) for the fire in my mouth.

How difficult was mounting the Stable Energies mount?

On a 4-way power seat, very easy: remove passenger seat (6 allen head bolts), install FE mount (2 bolts), install seats.a

The BK mount does not move with the seat. It is fixed mounted under the seat rails, thus it will limit forward movement of the seat.
