my dash is too shiny
#1

I can not see in bright sunny weather as my dash is too shiny. The sun bounces off the dash and reflects into the windshield. Mine is an original windshield in case the newer ones have more tinting. Any ideas how to clean the dash (leather) and then what to put on the leather that dries dull, not shiny?

Is your dash really leather or is it vinyl? What color? Pretty much the only thing I'll use on a dash is 303 Aerospace Protectant. If you put it on and leave it, it will dry to a light to medium sheen, but if you put it on with one towel, wait a few minutes and buff it dry with a different (dry) towel, it will not be as shiny but should still provide some UV protection.

Get some polarized sun glasses - kills all the glare.

+1 on Aerospace 303 - great stuff, and no glare.

I went to the ORPCA 50Th party and found a vendor selling zymol Treat leather conditioner. You get the dash warm by either sunlight or a hair blower, applied the cream and waited 20 minutes. Then you buff it off using a terry towel. It dries to a dull satin finish and conditions the leather at the same time. Well worth the $31 for 8.5 oz bottle.
