Just went for a spin in my friends 997 turbo - BIG mistake - now everything else seems slow. Makes me realize Porsche has made tremendous progress over the last 15 years. Driving off, nice, smooth and easy like my Audi A6, noice level reasonable, good sounding stereo, beutiful slick gearchange, responsive steering . Open it up in 2nd, and before you have time to react, you are hitting the rev limiter, put in third, and before you know you are way into losing your license kind of speed. Slam on the brakes, and the most impressive against the seatbelt sensation I have experienced, with perfect feedback and control (the front ceramic discs are huge). The torque is tremendous, hit the accelerator at legal speed in 6th, and it pulls like a train.. I guess the only comfort is that it is about 10 times the price of my 968, and probably 4 times that of my 993..., and it may be just too perfect, I kind of like the idiosynchrasies of older cars, gives me more of a sensation of an "event" when I take them for a drive..

I agree, but it still gives lots of fun a 968.

I drove once a turbo and the boost is faboulus!

If there is any consolation, at least you didn't end up driving the 997 GT2 <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
