Nothing beats an old crappy car
#41

“ People wonder why cool old cars sit in garages and yards for decades. It's because no one wants to pay a fair price for them and the owner is willing to let it sit because they don't want to lose their shirt on it and because value is value. They get tired of being low-balled on it every time someone walks by it. “

So true .    And that’s always been the reason I have NEVER bought any car with a consideration of what its resale value might  be, at any point in time ..

This is making me nostalgic. I had a 1936 Morris 8, terrific car, flat out at about 40mph!! But it was very honest, started first time every time, didn't promise anything it couldn't deliver, was built by hand with lots of brass and wood, and I'd have it back in a heartbeat. Actually I enjoy driving my 968 in the same way I enjoyed driving my Morris .... I guess it's the pleasure and pride of keeping driving history alive.

If I could get a fair price today - I would sell them all in a heartbeat.

The clear coat on the hood of my 4 year old silverado just peeled off yesterday during a wash. God I hate that truck. It's never been right and of course Chevy denies anything was ever designed wrong.

50K and only 85 k on the odo - and I can't tell you the number of things wrong with it.  I am so over cars.
