Anyone installed an exhaust cutout kit
#1

I have the stock exhaust and was wondering if anybody has installed an electronic exhaust cutout for those times when you want to go loud.

I'm not looking for performance, I just want to make a noise with the top down in the hills.

Given the 968 need for back pressure you would likely give up a lot of performance. A header would add both sound and performance, unfortunately RS Barn has retired.

Maybe put some playing cards in the spokes... :glare:

Jay

This looks pretty promising, and it's made next door to where I grew up!

those look so much like the factory design...? Wonder how much more power?

I upgraded to the stainless RSbarns and have been happy. They are four-tube headers. Four into-one. Have been very happy - no dyno slips. If I had to do it now, w/o RSbarn, I'd do the lindsey headers - I think ?? they are patterned off of the original Stahl headers. But not sure..

I'll try the playing cards Smile

Performance is not a priority.   I just want some noise that I can switch on and off.

Tape, CD or USB stick with racing sounds a solution?

Or you could invest in a BB catback system  ( about $ 1 K ) ..  here’s an old video clip of my car driving by..   turn up the sound, it’s only about 8 seconds long ..  It’s still a very “civilized” throaty rumble at idle, and same while you’re driving at the usual 3k rpm or so, but at 4 K - 6 K rpm and at WOT you get this :
