Montreal Grand Prix
#1

Question for anyone who has been to the Montreal GP once or twice.. If I care very little about the turns, or the finish line, or the pit activities and really am interested in seeing the cars either at full speed , or at least staring to go full out and for the longest vantage point / duration possible , it seems to me that

grandstands 22 and 33 might offer the best option for that, followed by perhaps 31

any thoughts and/or other locations suggestions ?

I like stand 15 , you get to see the cars coming straight at you at full speed then full braking for the hairpin then accelerating away, not the highest speed on the track but close. you also have a good view of the screen (or you could opt for renting a handheld kangaroo).

I have been going regularly for the past couple of years. 2 years ago there was a high speed crash(no one got hurt) and a wheel landed in the same stand.

The Senna corner GSs were pretty much all sold out. I'll be in GS 21 ( the very next best place ) but in the second last highest row, so it will have a panoramic view and great vantage of the oncoming cars on back straightaway at full speed, hard braking, the entire hairpin turn, and the opposite side of the track where they speed up once again.. Not to mention a jumbotron screen where we can see the rest of the course happenings If any of you guys are there, PM / email me and hopefully we can connect at one of the booths to grab a beer or something, during the race weekend.

Hey, in September 2012, if all goes to plan, we'll have our own F1 race, right in my back yard just outside of Austin. It's going to be call Circuit of the Americas. I still can't believe this is happening. Not so much because I'm a huge fan of the follow-the-leader brain mushification that is your typical F1 race (I'm hoping and expecting that the designers will do everything humanly possible to make passing at least within the realm of possibility at the new track), but I salivate at the thought of being able to drive my 968 on that track someday.
