As I predicted, I ended up spending time getting ready for harvest which will start this week for us. When I go down to Monterey for car week it is just to the vintage races. Always plenty see and to photograph, not overly crowded. I'm one of these guys that thinks vintage racing cars and vintage airplanes are best observed doing their thing in their natural environment.
A case in point, the Canadian Warbird Heritage Association flew their Avro Lancaster heavy bomber from Canada to England to join up with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Lancaster bomber for a tour of England. These are the only remaining airworthy Lancasters and they have been accompanied on their journey by a restored Supermarine Spitfire and a Hawker Hurricane. Much video has been taken and posted. So why mention this on a car site? if you love the sound of a V-12 auto engine you will absolutely love the sound of a 37L Rolls Royce Merlin 66 V-12.
