#1

I need to find a reputable 944/968 mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection for a car located in Bend, Oregon. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure, but I don't think Bend will have an abundance of Porsche mechanics in the area. If it was more the Portland area I would suggest Sunset Porsche or Matrix http://www.matrixintegrated.cc

Andre, if you feel the need to travel to Portland, Stutgart Autotech and Marque Motors are both highly regarded independents.

Guys,

Thanks for the advice! Portland is 3hrs away, so it was not an option for the owner of the car. I found a German Master Tech shop and these guys are Porsche/BMW racers and aftermarket tuners. They did a thorough PPI, so I am all set.

HI,

While I do not as yet own a 968, but I am starting to look for one, I went to Sunset Porsche about just the same thing. They are located here in Beaverton Oregon. They suggested that I talk to two shops in the area. Sunset does not see many 968's in the shop so they have no experience with them. The serivice manager told me that in the 4 years he has been there he has seen only 1 or 2 968's. His recommendations are as follows:

Mark Motors, 503-293-5386.

Stutgart Motors 503-635-3098

I have not called them myself. I will do it later today. I want to find out from them the obvious things to look for as to what could be wrong with a car, when buying a 968. I am looking for either a 94 or 95.
