MBZ brakes
#1

just as I was amazed by the longevity of the 968 brake pads and rotors, I am so disgusted with the oem crap that MBZ sells : front and back rotors and pads need to be replaced every 20k miles ( and this is on a car that gets driven in a very mild manner - no hard braking, etc..)

it almost seems it's done on purpose so they can sell these parts more frequently.. and it's annoying to learn how many independent mechanics around here refuse to use anything but oem stuff for MBZs. Conspiracy ?!

Think I'll go to Pep Boys , Grand Auto, Sears or any similar chain which might use

more durable after market equipment.

Does anyone know of good after market brands for MBZ brake systems ?

So logically you should put Porsche brakes on the Benz.....

Seriously, put some metalmasters on the Merc.. They should last forever.

how about the rotors ? metalmasters make those also ?

I'd think tough pads would wear out those wimpy MBZ rotors even faster ?!

I have no clue. Search around, there has got to be aftermarket alternatives to factory rotors.
