LG, forgive me for asking what everyone may already know, but may I ask the origin of your rather interesting user name?

That goes back. I just made it up as my Halo username. It was Lord Galvatross, but it doesn't fit in most online usernames.

On my calendar. Ok, so who else is in ?

Would be great to get a caravan going if we can meet at some designated point prior to the Vacaville trek..

I should be available. I'll know for sure on Saturday after I see the vineyard pruning schedule.

The 9th is getting pretty close... so can we move from " definite maybe" to " absent a natural diasater, I'll be there" ? Assuming of course the day still works for Richard Richard ... do we have a green light ?!

Secondly, anyone in the Bay Area interested in caravaning up there ? I think if we meet just off Hwy 80

( Starbucks ? ) near Emeriville or Berkeley that should work out ok for most of us.. whether coming up from South Bay, Peninsula, East Bay..

No vineyard work, so I'll be there. I live in Alameda so a caravan from Emeryville or the PRB (People Republic of Berkeley) works for me. Time and place?

I'm guessing E'mville or PRB to Vacaville will be less than 1 Hr (?) in Saturday traffic so sometime b/f 10 am should probably work, and we can figure out a place later but if you know of any suitable spot we can all meet just pick it and we'll be there.

Trevor ( black 968 coupe ) is on also, so ooks like we're gathering some serious steam here - hey, we may end up with at least seven, may be even more 968s !! Wooo-hooo

Unless work doesn't honor my request for the day off, I'll be there baring a natural disaster. I'm all for a rendezvous en route.

I will attend, albeit relatively briefly.

Great to hear - and I think you'll have company on the way down ; Sam " EEZATOY " ( also from Sacramento ) indicated he plans to be there, so be on the lookout for a black coupe on Hwy 80..

I sent Richard a PM, guessing he'll post confirmation that we're on and any other details, soon.

I know several of us avoid driving our cars in the rain but for a one time momentous occasion / event like

I trust we'll overlook that habit, no matter what the weather .. still, hoping for a dry day

Sorry I took so long to update over here. The date is still confirmed for the 9th of Feburary at 11am. This sounds like it will be a very fun afternoon. I have confirmed that at least one 951 and three 928's will be there aswell.

I would like to do a drive up Pleasants Valley rd to hwy 128 and take a group photo at the Monticelo Dam after lunch. We could do a slight bypass and travel up my favorite road, but with a lot of people it may be difficult.

if things work out as planned, looks like there will be more P-cars there, than the grounds at "German Auto Fest"

Still on my radar - baring something to conflict with it I should be there...and my car being a DD is afraid of the rain - its been getting wet all week and hasn't melted yet...

so caravan meeting in berkeley, 9:30-ish at the university ave exit off hwy 80 ? i presume on a sat moring there should be plenty of spots to park our cars on univ ave, right after we get off the hwy...

then if we take off around 10 we should be in vacaville in time, traffic glitches or not.

btw, if we park in berkeley we'll need bumper stickers on our cars promoting any given green initiative, a radical ideology or at least wear clothes made from hemp, otherwise we run the risk of having our non-hybrid 968s pelted with eggs .. but hey, they're sure to be eggs from free-range chickens

Be sure to post some pictures. That way us East Coasters can still enjoy the get together, at least somewhat.

Rather than trying to park on University Ave. may I suggest we meet at Peet's Coffee on 4th street. To get there you take the University Ave exit but go off on the Frontage Road, there is a sign, Frontage road, and then make the first right turn after you pass under University Ave. and cross the railroad tracks. There is a lumber yard and a large parking lot on the right side after you make the turn 4th Street is the first left after crossing the tracks. Peets is a block or two down 4th. Should be plenty of parking. Service at Peet's is kind of slow in that "Berkeley" sort of way, so be mindful of that if you want to have a coffee before hitting the road.
