Rather than trying to park on University Ave. may I suggest we meet at Peet's Coffee on 4th street. To get there you take the University Ave exit but go off on the Frontage Road, there is a sign, Frontage road, and then make the first right turn after you pass under University Ave. and cross the railroad tracks. There is a lumber yard and a large parking lot on the right side after you make the turn 4th Street is the first left after crossing the tracks. Peets is a block or two down 4th. Should be plenty of parking. Service at Peet's is kind of slow in that "Berkeley" sort of way, so be mindful of that if you want to have a coffee before hitting the road.
Works for me. I'll be there at 9:30. He, he, Peet's slow everywhere but damn, IMHO, that's as good as coffee gets anywhere ..!!

Forecast calls for perfect weather ( for a change.. ) : Clear, and low 60s.

Great for the drive there and for the fun run.

I had both tubes removed over the past three days and man it feels good to get them out. My doctor rocked and was smart to not be the one doing the tube pulling. For some reason I always want to punch the guy doing it. I would recommened anyone needing Urology attention to see Dr. McAninch at UCSF. He is the head of the department so he knows his stuff. As a bonus he kinda sounds like Jimmy Stewart from "Its a wonderful life."

I can't wait for the party on Saturday. I hope lots of you show.

Barring any unforeseen Porsche gremlins , looks like three 968s will be leaving my house on our way to the interim rendezvous spot in Berkeley where I hope we'll connect with what may be two or even three more 968s, and then..on route to Pizza Party Central !!

I'm thinking we should leave Berkeley by 10:00 am ( or, maybe stick around another 10 minutes past that.. just in case anyone is running a bit late ), but I suppose if someone misses the pre-meet we'll just see eachother at Round Table in Vacaville anyway..

Sam's getting there from the other direction ( Sacramento ) but if any of you guys know how to contact Mark ( "Bearmeat" - horizon blue 968 ) who lives in the East Bay please see if he can join in.. I can't find his contact info anywhere - deleted off 968.net and I am not a Rennlist member so no way to check if he's there..

Richard, how many P-cars total ? I recall a couple of 928s, a 951, two other 968s were planning to join,

so we may be talking nearly a dozen Porsches ?!

I spent most of this past December in the care of the good folks at UCSF Urology. First class treatment and first class Drs and staff.

amazing coincidence here - three of us ( may be more ?! ) at this saturday's meet have been treated in some way or another by the UCSF urology dept - in my case it was a kidney cyst initially disgnosed ( MIS-diagnosed ) to be malignant, but after the biopsy was done - mind you, this was all by inserting a "tv" cable with a camera in it AND a laser instrument trough my urethra of all things - it thankfully turned out to be benign. But there was a stent placed there during the healing process, so when I say that I empathise with your pain, while "recycling" the beer we drink , I'm not just saying that, I have experienced it first hand..

are we bonding yet ?

for some reason, I keep expecting to hear about some joint peeing in the form of bonding at the meet... remember "sword fighting" when you were like 5?

Well, I can see that this post has very quickly slipped down to the lowest common denominator. I was in for a bilateral ureteroscopy to determine whether their might be a source for the blood I was passing in my urine. We were looking for a renal cell carcinoma or some other type of inflamation. Found a kidney stone, which was removed via lithotripsy. No sign of cancer or any other inflamation source so we are all good. The aftermath of the lithotripsy was another story, however. CT scan found some schrapnel fragments that don't seem to be a problem.

Looking forward to Saturday and a little bit of roof off cruising. Also looking forward to meeting some of the forum's Bay Area contingent.

Will tell you tomorrow, rather not post his name since he and his entire team were convinced this was cancer and were just chomping at the bit to cut my kidney ( or at least a part thereof ) out of there..

Lucky for me I'm highly skeptical and after a second opinion and a third opinion I went to L.A. and had the procedure I wanted and insisted on having done. Turns out I was right and they were wrong. So even the best doctors, first class panel of doctors, and first class medical schools/facilities can miss one here and there..

The good news is that it's the exception rather than the rule, so glad you folks experienced first class care on your treatments !

Ok, enough of this nonsense or the moderator will relocate this post and have to create a "medical" thread

This sounds like it will be so much fun!

Everyone try to arrive before 11am if you can.

I was told by the manager that another party is scheduled for 11am.

Lets get there first and fill the parking lot.
