Any updates on this? My car just got the tip light when I started the car with a electric plug remove trying to mount the trans back to the cross member. WhenI started the car, the light came on.

Just got the tip. Transmission mounted back on the car over the weekend. Now have to deal with the limp mode/trans light. Disconnected the battery for an hour and then restarted the car, no change. This issue started when I disconnected the electrical plug
(Two prong) on the passenger side of the car and started the engine, this caused the tip light to go on. After reading multiple forums, there seem tone very little info on the tip.
Any suggestion?

Try an external 12 volt supply mounted on the computer from the tiptronic in the boot. Than start the engine. If you have no failure than you have a 12v supply problem. The wiring does have some resistant. It can also be developed by the dme relais. In my mind there is a difference in the diagram between a manual and a tiptronic.

Thanks for your help. So far, no luck. This situation started when I removed the electrical connection (on the passenger side) on the trans (just 2 electrical connectors). I started the car and the tip symbol light came on, I shut down the car and plug the connection back
On the trans. However, the tip symbol stayed on. I tried discounting the battery, rep luging etc. no luck so far.
Any ideas?
Thanks
