Hi all,

 

I have a CR-1 tape deck that's not functional.  The backlight lights up, but nothing on the display.  Some light crackling can be heard if I actively and aggressively turn the volume up and down.  As I understand it, it would display "CODE" if asking for a code, but I cannot get anything to display at all.  Feel like its dead completely - any ideas?

 

Anyone that repairs them? Or can I throw a factory CD player in there? (Not big on aftermarket stuff for this car).

sounds like the LCD or driver for the LCD has passed on,

 

they can be repaired,

 

no idea who in the USA

Company in CA repairs/refurbs the CR-1  He sells them on Ebay as well.  CreativeCarAudioshop  Brea, CA 1-714-744-4438

 

There are others, this is the only one I have dealt with
