Just need to vent a little....

I am glad sometimes that I live in Bugtussel. This is a bit goofy. The end of the first post summed it up well - I believe that Jim was going for a beer. To the others - go get one too. And forget about Rennlist, forums.net and all the others while you are having it. We got it all here baby.

Back from the Parade!

Again, if I may,

My only point was that the mods are doing a thankless job, so to jab at them is wrong in my opinion.

As for the bad blood of the past, that "it is what it is" and only concerns a few specific individuals and any parties other than those parties that engage in that fight are wrong.

That fight is between them not us!

All of the guys that post in these sites have a love for a very wonderful and unique Porsche.

My last post for now.

Cheers, Joel

Hi Trevor,

Happy Birthday! You sure are spunky for 103!

While I will graciously accept your mantle of the "most disgusting personal attack I've ever seen on a Porsche technical forum" (I'd like to thank g_d, and my mother), please don't forget the context in which I issued my little diatribe. I had never previously posted on RL. Look at the fact that my post was #44, with no moderator in site. That it was only #44 on that one particular thread. Look at the rest of that week, in which, the primary instigators (and their legion of evildoers) of this battle (not Bob and not Pete and not me) dredged up threads as old as 6 years to rekindle the fires (they are soooo good at attacking people who can't defend themselves publicly, thus my kicking puppies comment. Anyone remember the unfortunate 968 accident that had nothing to do with us and they still didn't step in and stop the bloodshed?). All of this in a backdrop of my going beyond the bounds of trust and peace within the group by helping Boost Feen post his car for sale on this forum, at the same time he was taking swipes at us on the RL. Do you really wonder at how I reached my limit?

I mean this sincerely. I have always taken the high ground. I could let this thing go away today, but I am sick and tired of turning the other cheek. Tell your buddies; who have never sponsored an event, who have never produced a product, who have never solved a problem and published the results, that they will reap what they sow. If they want to trade blows, they better have strong armor because my patience is worn out. I can gather a line of people who have endured their mischief and those people are ready to step forward with me. If you think I over-reacted to their little ForumsNazi comment, just imagine how that will be received by the board of directors of IB (including the one's named Goodstein, Rosenblum and Friedman), who I'm certain will not be happy about their forums using this type of terminology as a "conventional" swipe.

There are so many good people who don't have a dog in this fight that it pains me to drag this up all over again. I apologize to you for turning this oasis into a swamp, I swear, I tried to avoid it at all costs.

You are not banned; your post will not be deleted. Have a nice day, my birthday is Tuesday so my fellow Pisces, chill out and enjoy the view from 968forums.

Regards,

Jay

Wow, Just thought I would have a look before I moved on tonight.

Until the past few weeks I never knew that there was another owner of this site.

I thought that I might add to the healing process with my posts but that is not true.

When you go to the other sites it is nothing personal with the owners!

Strictly opinion!

Thanks Jay, happy birthday to you as well. My birthday wish is that everyone would just chill out and enjoy the 968's.

To All,
I love the support and also welcome questions from whomever. I test all my products and continue to further develop them.
It's so clear why so many people can't take Rennlist anymore. There are basically two people there who have been able to get people banned and promote vendors (their friends) . The new moderator is also a friend of theirs.
I'm quite busy with my products and shop-plus wife and kids and really don't get much time to post... But I get hundreds of calls from all over the globe for products and advise. I do my best to answer them
My dilema is what to do about Rennlist. I can be a sponsor for $200.00 per month to be able to promote and defend my stuff.
This would take the heat off a few people who can't stand the over moderation and control by jerks.
Let me know your thoughts
Pete

Pete, I think that over estimate the friend factor.

I have never met you personally or any of the other so called experts of the 968 world.

I have purchased product from you and if you are a sponcer on Renlnist you will not have to defend yourself.

They would defend you!!!!!!

Cheers, Joel

I think sponsoring at Rennlist would be a great idea and would put a lot of things to rest over there. I'd be happy to kick on the first months sponsorship.

WOW!!! I'm one of the "old timers", having been a .net when everything was still reasonably friendly, and having met all of the participants in this latest controversy (with some good, and some not as good, results). However, until I saw this thread, I was totally unaware of this latest flareup because my approach has been (probably too) simple - I frequent RL infrequently, probably have a total of maybe 5 posts there, and find that Forums provides me with all I need. Pete - you know I love you, do what you feel you need to, it'll have no impact on our relationship or business.

As an observer, therefore, it's remarkable that this still goes on after so many years. The duration makes it quite obvious that "you can't beat them", so if it irks you, why bother trying to "join them"? I'm not usually inclined to duck and run, but I'm also old enough to know when I shouldn't waste my time or breath.

Joel,
I've had people (two) refer to my products as muffler shop stuff and quote other manufactures stats that weren't published as gospel. I also had the same people call me a middle man who make profits while others are the experts. I didn't have the ability to respond. Now that customers who are happy are tired of these comments you want to champion the moderator!!! Good for you.
Just so you know. I was banned from Rennlist for complaining to John D. that someone acted as a vendor ( I purchased from him) while anyone mentioning my stuff was censored. Seems very familiar.
What I ment was I only can pay the bucks to have my products talked about

this has gotten way out of control - now people are being warned they will be banned if they mention this site or rs barn, or me, or design 1

claims have been made that pete was "using RL to push his parts/service" - i challenge the administrator to find posts in which that was done in any way different that anyone else - both he and i were VERY careful not to do that - both he and i were banned due solely to a behind the scenes campaign by two people - john d simply got tired of hearing it - it had nothing to do with anything we did - i have letters from him to that effect

at this point in time it seems to me that perhaps filing a Tortious Interference suit might be in order - to allow commentary about one non advertising vendor, but prohibit it from another, while staying within the boundaries of the site's guidelines, yet without cause, particularly in this kind of venue, is illegal and actionable - rs barn has never given cause for these actions - it would not be hard to demonstrate damages either - this does not even get into the libelous comments that have been made

so, it may not become necessary to sponsor rennlist - if the courts see fit, it may well turn out that rs barn could OWN rennlist

this is all silly - there are only a dozen or so active participants on that site, and with this latest nonsense, that number is decreasing - who really cares what the remaining people think anyway? if it weren't for the fact that new unsuspecting people immediately get an ear-full from those people, i don't think rennlist would make a dent in the 968 community at all

I guess I need to apologize to some of you. One reason that forum is now under strict moderation is my complaints about several posts and posters over there on both sides of the lamentable 968 community split. Yeah, I've been around all of these forums for awhile myself and too be honest I'm sick of it. My wife (a 968 owner/driver) says this is all too much like a bunch of 7th graders and she is right. There is plenty of blame to go around including some of my stuff back in the 968.net days, although I try to be an equal opportunity offender. I doubt I am the reason for the latest sticky however I might be responsible for the sticky comparing it to the rennlist 944 turbo forum. While I don't post much either place any longer I do check them both regularly and read any thread that looks like it may be of interest as well reading at other sites.

what happened on one site has nothing whatsoever to do with another - nothing ever happened on rennlist to justify any of these actions - this is purely a personal vendetta, conducted by petty and cowardly individuals, clearly with nothing else going on in their lives, dredging up 6 year old nonsense, and taking pathetic shot after shot at people they don't like, after taking steps to insure that those people cannot defend themselves, while contributing nothing new themselves to the community - it's painfully clear to most people, but unfortunately they are subjected to the onslaught of what should be kept private - on top of that, it is now here on this site

regardless of what feelings anybody has about somebody else, policy decisions need to be blind, and clearly they aren't - administrators are being fed misinformation, and policy is being manipulated to serve particular individuals - that is wrong and needs to be corrected

i'd really like all of this to stop, and will be discussing this with the other owners - while possibly cathartic for a few of us, at this point this thread serves no positive purpose for the community in whole, and probably should be stopped or deleted

Well, I still frequent the 993 / 928 / Offtopic sections for various reasons so I won't completely go away. I lose the OT access once they cancel my membership, but I'll still be able to get my 993 fix!!

So if I post "I own a 968 & a Lexus" I can be banished Rennlist?

Rightfully so- have you ever had fluffernutter? That stuff sucks and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy... Well, maybe my worst but certainly not people I generally dislike or don't associate with...
