Both my instrument cluster and climate control lights went out at the same time. I checked the fuses but they all seem to be fine. Where do I go next? I sort of pulled the instrument cluster out to look behind it but I couldn't see much.

That sounds like it could be a dimmer or a switch problem. Try cycling the dimmer up and down a few times to burnish the contacts.
