We went all Mac after having bought an iBook for my wife. She had previously purchased a Compaq Presario that would run for a month and then barf. I had replaced Win 98SE on it a few times and finally installed Win 2000 Pro on it. Despite my best efforts and 20 odd years of experience, the laptop would not work to the level of usability. Finally during a fit of anger I told her "Go buy an Apple!"
She did.
When I decided to retire, she told me I could buy a new computer only on condition that I got rid of my Windows server farm. I replaced 13 windows systems with a Mac Mini. It worked like a charm. Never froze, never crashed, and were it not for a catastrophic house fire we had back in June, I would still be using it. We replaced the fire damaged systems with another iBook for her and an iMac for me. They work flawlessly. We also added a couple of Apple Tv boxes as well as a Time Capsule.
Everything works.
As to bad tech support, try calling AT&T sometime to get to the department that understands naked DSL lines and moving telephone lines.
I wasted 5 hours and 46 minutes of my life doing that one day.
