I am in the same boat ( several months now.. ), so it's with all sincerity that

I convey best wishes to you, because I know the feeling...



I also had a position I loved and had been in that role for a very successful 18 years... regretfully, the company is in survival mode and drastic cuts often follow no logical reasoning, other than - " do it, and we'll take our chances later " m.o.
