I'm Full of Hot Air!
#1

Started up the 968 after a few weeks of inactivity and after a short ride noticed the vents blowing out hot air regardless of temp.setting or airflow setting.Normally in November, would not be problem but it has been 70+ degrees for a few days.Had a couple of 944's that had similar issues(HCV) and some vacum controlled flap.Is this a common scenario in the 968?I'm sure the climate control system in the 968 is more sophisticated than the 944's but ?Going to drop it off tomorrow.

could be - it's up front - there are a couple of threads on this - do a search for "heater control valve" and it should turn it up

otherwise, look into the repair & techinical section, engine, heating and cooling systems

If it's like the 944 series there is a small white clip that is known to break and cause this to happen. It's under the dash on the left side above the gas pedal. There is a metal rod about 3mm thick that passes through it. Get out your set of tiny fingers as you try to turn upside down under that dash!
