Hesitation with full tank
#1

Just in the last week, I've noticed hesitation in the engine when the tank is full. Once I burn off a couple of gallons, the problem vanishes. This has been consistent after filling up 3 times now.

Going down the interstate, it feels like I'm deploying a drag chute periodically, for about a second at a time.

Any thoughts?

clogged breather line? if i had to guess i'd say near the gas cap - in fact, could be the gas cap itself - try removing it and driving

Good thoughts. I will try the gas cap thing after filling the tank. Would be nice if it was that simple.

There is a float ball in the tank filler neck...try to look down the filler neck to see if it still intact. fuel may be entering the breathing system/breather tank. Does it happen more on hard left turns?

It does sound like a breather problem when you first describe it . If it continues, also look to a fuel pump or pressure regulator issue

also, there is also an 'in-tank' filter which can get clogged
