My car's vents have been blowing little bits of crumbly gray foam for a while. This summer we've graduated to bigger chunks. Last time I had the heater box out I noticed the two main pads visible from above were in sad shape - I ordered two replacement pads from Porsche but one never came and I never followed up. Sunset said it was NLA - at least until Porsche decided to make some more!
Questions:
1) has anyone here replaced these? I suppose any old closed-cell foam would do... any suggestions or anecdotal advice?
2) how many foam pads are there total? four? the PET is not very clear on this. are they all "easily" accessible?
PS this question is emblematic of just about every piece of soft foam on the entire car - I think after 19 years they all just let go and turn to dust.
