How do you handle bump steering adjustments with lowered suspension

Hi 968 Racers,



How do you all handle adjusting bump steering when you lower your 968? Besides the Elephant Racing kit, what other methods are reliable or other options hvae you found that works?

How much do you plan to lower your vehicle and is it for street/race?

I'd venture most haven't done anything. I haven't. It is not typically a huge problem on these cars, unless you are getting extreme. The Elephant kit looks interesting though.

It hasen't been much of an issue on these cars. The geometry in the front limits lowering the car enought to have bump steer issues. The alternative is longer ball joint pins to extremely lower front end. this would necesiatate rack placement issues and bump steer.

I'm totally against longer ball joint pins. There is so much stress on them now.

I prefer running the car a bit high with everything else working in harmony

i guess i've gone "extreme" - it certainly bumps more than i like at my ride height, with the tire width i have - not bad, and certainly not as bad as some other cars i've had, but i will likely be relocating the rack

I will be doing 6-8 track events per year. And with the coil over kit I will install (someday....) probably lower the car no more than 1".

1 " from standard height is no problem in terms of bump steer. My car is rather low and if I recall correctly 620 mm to the wheel arc or about 3" to the ground. No bump steer on track which I have thought of. As Flash will point out there might be other issues in lowering this much but bump steer will not be the serious one.
