Bring the car to me; I'll give her proper exercise, it may cost you a set of Fikse wheels... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Seriously, hope you have an easy time of it. We are all thinking of you.

Also, 6 weeks isn't too long not to drive the car, you may want a battery tender.

Cosimo,
I have a spare battery tender you can borrow. Give me a ring or PM here...
I would also be happy to "exercise" your car for a time or two.
If there's anything you guys need while you're re-cooping, don't hesitate to give a ring.

Just to pass on one experience, my 968 sat unused for about 4 months after an accident. Most of the time is was covered or in my garage, except for about 3 weeks in the sun, before I got to the repairs. Given it's state at the time, nobody did any prep work. After some rudimentary checks and minor functional repairs, I simply charged the battery and it immediately started up and drove like before. (One rudimentary check: vacuum out a mouse nest, and check wires, under the intake manifold!).
Best of luck with the back injury.
