Hershey Swap Meet 2013
#21

lol - yeah - i can't believe the crap you went through - i think pca sucks in general, and they really need to take their stick out of their ass, but that region is the worst i've heard of.

i'm still thinking about popping out. not sure. the weather looks pretty dicey, with rain on both ends. no driving event. never any 968 stuff. that makes it a pretty a long haul for a beer with friends.

Hope to see all of you 968 guys and gals there. I will be attending the Porsche Friday evening event and plan to stop over at the Hilton Garden Inn after the event. Rap, not sure whether they have booze at the Hotel but if yes, you got one on me. Bob, you too if you can make it this year.

now that's some kind of invitation! lol Unfortunately Friday nite is out for me. Liz's b-day is sun. I'm at the swap meet sat and at the meadowlands for a de training on sun. Me thinks I might be pressing my luck blowing off friday nite.

Just bought my ticket for the Friday night function.

Also booked a room at that Hilton Garden Inn. Those rooms are not cheap. I'm not sure I'll have any $ left for the swap meet.

They must think we all drive new Panamericas or something.

Good lord. Hey I have a bridge I can give you a good deal on. Bend over! I just stayed at the Hershey Travel Lodge for $58.00 per nite. Less than 5 minutes from the parking lot. Since your so flush with cash I'd be willing to sell you some 968 parts for really inflated prices. Lol Just kidding. You probably could have driven to that hotel to meet up with other 968 ers and saved some mulaw.

Talk about inflation, when I booked a block of rooms for the 2010 swap meet they were only $139...

unless they have seriously upgraded that hotel, that is a huge rip-off. i was singularly underwhelmed. felt more like a holiday inn express than a hilton anything.

but, there aren't a whole lot of places in hershey, and the crowd generally doesn't have much money (lol - otherwise they wouldn't be at a swap meet in the first place), so they have to pick some place affordable.

I got the room for $194 w/o taxes. That senior discount is great. I also was surprised by the rate. I guess they figured out that Porsches were in town and jacked up the rates. I've seen other prices as low as $122 but not for the weekend of the swap meet. i may change it for another less expensive place. The Holiday Inn is not a good alterntive.

why they don't use the hotel hershey? it's only $389. heck, if you go down to a queen, you can get the B&B for only $307. seems like a much better choice to me. it's closer AND better.
